It’s all about the butt! Blake Lively just upset some of her fans after she posted a photo of herself in Cannes on Instagram, with the caption, ‘L.A. face with an Oakland booty.’ Why were they ticked off? Keep reading for the details!
Not funny? Blake Lively, 28, is known to look stunning on red carpets, but the actress just caused all sorts of drama when she posted a picture of herself in Cannes on Instagram with the controversial caption. “L.A. face with an Oakland booty.” As soon as she put the shot up on social media, her fans went nuts on her for being “racially insensitive.” Click to find out more!
The actress took to social media on May 17 to post a front-and-back shot of herself on the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival. She captioned it, “L.A. face with an Oakland booty.” Not surprisingly, the star’s misguided comment has enraged some of her followers. The mama-to-be-again actress shared a side-by-side snap of herself in a stunning golden gown by Atelier Versace. In one pic, it’s all about her tiny baby bump, and in the other, she flaunts her round backside. Whoa, watch out Kim Kardashian, 35!
A lot of Blake’s fans got her joke when she captioned the shot quoting lyrics from Sir Mix-a-Lot’s, 52, 1992 big booty anthem “Baby Got Back.” But there were others who interpreted her use of words as racially insensitive and said they were disappointed in her. “As if getting married on a slave plantation wasn’t reason enough to hate her,” one upset follower commented, reminding everyone of the celeb’s 2012 wedding to her hunky husband Ryan Reynolds, 39. Their ceremony took place at South Carolina’s Boone Hall Plantation, a place that took advantage of slave labor pre–Civil War. Blake, who is expecting her second child with Ryan, has yet to respond to the controversial photo.
So HollywoodLifers, do you think Blake went too far with her pic’s caption?
