Demi Lovato and Nick Jonas’ Carpool Karaoke has arrived and it was everything we hoped it would be and then some. The pair sang along a medley of their own hits on ‘The Late Late Show,’ so keep reading for what they had in store for us.
Two of our favorite people have come together for our absolute favorite late night segment, as Demi Lovato, 23, and Nick Jonas, 23, are hitching a ride with James Corden, 37 for Carpool Karaoke. We knew this was going to be epic when the three teased us with an adorable clip of them street performing “Jealous” while taping the skit, so see how the rest of the ride turned out!
Carpool Karaoke is such a great way to preview the pair’s upcoming summer tour that kicks off at the end of June. As usual, James needed the help of celebrity friends to help him get in the carpool lane and get to work faster so it was Nick and Demi to the rescue on May 16. Nick noted how they were “Celebrating our tenth year of friendship this year,” as they first bumped each other. SO SWEET!
They burst into Demi’s “Heart Attack,” for the trio’s opening number and then it was Nick’s musical turn as the group then hit up “Chains,” before Demi’s dramatic “Stone Cold.” God bless ’em, that had to be a hard song to do in Carpool Karaoke since Demi’s powerful vocals drive the song, but the guys totally kept up.
Nick dropped a truth bomb on us when talking about brother Joe Jonas‘ band DNCE’s hit song “Cake by the Ocean,“ with Nick revealing “It’s about sex!” in a hushed whisper. He explained that , “Joe was writing the song with people from Sweden and they were like ‘what’s that thing, cake by the ocean?’ and he was like ‘do you mean sex on the beach?’ That’s how it was born.” We totally didn’t know that! The trio then broke out in the song and it was insane! Stream Demi’s music, completely unlimited and ad-free, RIGHT HERE.
James said he wanted to go on tour with them, but Nick claimed he needed an audition first. They pulled up on busy Melrose Ave, grabbed some paint cans for drums, Nick got his guitar and Demi belted out “Confident” while a TMZ bus full of tourists and a huge crowd gathered around! Oh my God how cool would that have been to have witnessed this street concert in person! James even gathered up a sizeable amount of tips from the fans afterwards, but sadly Demi and Nick shut down his plans for any future performances with them. Womp womp!
