Oh, the shade is SO real! Nathan Fillion tweeted along with fans during the last episode of ‘Castle’ on May 16, and when one called him out for spoiling something that happened in the series finale, he made it clear that he couldn’t care less. Check out his diss to ABC for cancelling the show here!
Nathan Fillion, 45, has no loyalty to ABC now that Castle has been cancelled…so he had no problem throwing some shade to the network on Twitter during the Castle finale on May 16. While responding to a fan’s message, the actor issued a majorly sarcastic dig toward ABC — check it out here.

A fan who was tweeting throughout the episode pointed out that Nathan had previously spoiled something that happened during the hour-long finale, but the 45-year-old had no regrets about his accidental (or maybe not so accidental?) leak.
“But what are they going to do? Fire me?” he wrote back. The show was recently cancelled after eight seasons, so Nathan is obviously joking, but we can’t help but notice that this seems like a total dig at ABC for not letting the series continue.
Castle fans were absolutely devastated when it was announced in April that Stana Katic (Beckett) would be leaving the show after the current season. But the devastation was taken to a whole new level on May 12, when the network revealed that Castle was getting the axe, and that there would be no ninth season at all.
Still, the show went out with a major bang — the gripping episode featured tons of action, with Castle and Beckett teaming up to defeat LokSat (who, in a major twist, was actually Mason)! But it was the final scene that really had fans buzzing: Just when the pair thought they were done with the drama, they get shot by Caleb Brown in Beckett’s apartment, and are seen holding hands, gasping for air.
All ends well, though, as the timeline flashes forward seven years, and we see Castle and Beckett living happily ever after with a whole gaggle of kids. Considering the preview made it seem like Beckett might not make it through the finale, we were excited about this happy ending!
Do you think Nathan’s tweet was funny…or totally uncalled for, HollywoodLifers?
