Oh no! College football star, Cam Robinson was arrested in Louisiana on May 17 for two serious offenses. If he’s charged, this could actually destroy his chances at a professional football career.
Yikes! University of Alabama all-star, Cam Robinson, 20, was arrested with a teammate on May 17, when authorities found illegal substances on the player. Cam is slated to be a first-round pick in the NFL Draft, but this incident could ruin his chances of making it to the big time.
Cam and Alabama safety player, Laurence Jones, 20, were arrested in the morning in Louisiana after a police officer approached the players’ parked car, according to a police report obtained by ESPN. The officer was apparently approaching the vehicle after smelling a “strong odor of marijuana,” but when he confronted Cam and Laurence, he found much more than weed.
A bag of marijuana and one handgun were spotted on the car floorboard in addition to a stolen handgun, which was hidden under Cam’s seat. After that, the officer had no choice but to book the boys on misdemeanor and felony charges for possession of illegal substances and weapons.
The University has yet to comment on the arrests, but this is definitely not good, especially for Cam. Laurence was a highly-rated defensive player for the University, but Cam has been the Crimson Tide team’s starting offensive and defensive player for the past three seasons. But coaches may be forced to bench him or worse — cut him! Either way, benching or cutting him would be terrible for his career.
If the all-star were to get cut from the team, there’s not telling what this would mean for his future. Cam was projected to be a top, first-round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, but a criminal offense isn’t the record recruits are looking for.
Cam and Laurence is currently sitting at Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office, according to reports. The offensive tackle’s bond was set at $750. Hopefully he’ll use this time behind bars to think about how to fix the mess he’s in.
HollywoodLifers, do you think Cam should be cut from the team, or should he just be benched for the next couple of games?
