Jay Z’s alleged cheating is the main focus of Beyonce’s album ‘Lemonade,’ and if you think Bey went too far in calling out her man, her mom, Tina, has a message in her defense! Find out why Tina thinks dissing the rapper so publicly was therapeutic and healing for her daughter here.
Beyonce’s mom, Tina Knowles, is her biggest supporter, and she’s once again come to her daughter’s defense while discussing the 34-year-old’s hit new album Lemonade. Tina explains why it was totally necessary for Bey to diss her hubby, Jay Z, 46, on the record and reveals what Lemonade is really about in this brand new interview!
“It could be about anyone’s marriage,” Tina explained to ABC 13 Houston. “I think that everybody, at one time or another, has been betrayed and lied to and it’s about the pain.” Whoa, Bey has kept tight-lipped about the meaning behind Lemonade, and even though the shocking lyrics about cheating and betrayal do the talking, it’s pretty insane that her mom has flat-out admitted the record’s meaning!
“It’s about the healing process — and it’s about…how do you get past that and move on?” she added. “People make it all about the cheating and betrayal, and yes, that’s a part of it because that’s something you have to heal from. If you really listen to the poetry, it is one of hope and redemption and hopefully that can be healing for people.”
Despite the accusations she made against him on Lemonade, Bey and Jay have put on a united front since the album’s April 23 release — he’s joined her on the road for her Formation tour, although he was noticeably absent as her Met Gala date on May 2.
Meanwhile, Jay has reportedly been working on a brand new album of his own…and he’s prepared to tell HIS side of the story. “He thinks it’s an extremely genius and lucrative move,” an insider told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. “Bey’s been bringing in money and notoriety from Lemonade as if she were Rockefeller, and Jay wants to get a piece of the action while it’s hot.”
But the 34-year-old won’t let her man say just say anything! “Beyonce wants a final say on everything on Jay’s new album and Jay Z has said ‘OK,'” a source told us EXCLUSIVELY. “Jay is being respectful and allowing her to listen to the tracks like he always has for all of his albums he has put out while they have been together. Listening to his songs as he works on them is nothing new for Beyonce, but with this album, it is more important to her than ever.”
