The ‘Quantico’ season finale was straight-up insane. Alex and the rest of the agents hurried to stop Liam before it was too late, but someone didn’t make it out alive.
FINALLY! The Quantico season finale gave us so many answers, but left us with many more questions. Liam’s master plan was revealed, Alex killed [SPOILER], and one beloved character make the ultimate sacrifice — and paid the ultimate price.
Okay, so the first few minutes of the season finale revealed how Liam pulled this whole thing off. The moment Miranda gave Liam his job at Quantico, he noticed Alex. He had been watching her and planning to frame her the entire time. He bugged all of the trainees’ apartments while they were at Quantico.
Liam was the one who stole Simon’s Grand Central blueprints. He hacked Alex’s phone, broke into her apartment to plant evidence and bombed Grand Central! Liam shot Ryan and left him to die in Alex’s apartment. LIKE WHAT?!
More Lies & An ‘I Love You’
Back when the gang was still at Quantico, Ryan and Alex’s flirting was at an all-time high. These two could barely keep their hands off of each other. So, of course, Liam had to ruin it. He let it slip to Alex that Ryan didn’t take the job in DC — he was going to Texas!
Naturally, Alex thought Ryan was just flat-out lying to her. She made him spill the beans, but then Ryan told Alex that he loved her. I simply CANNOT with these two!
At graduation, Liam told Alex that he had “plans” for her. Boy, he wasn’t kidding.
Bullet To The Head
In the present, Liam was still conspiring up a storm. He pointed the finger at Miranda, who he was keeping locked in his car. Yeah, she survive when Liam shot her at close range. When nothing was adding up, Alex figured out Liam was the mastermind.
She ran to his apartment and found his daughter waiting. That’s when she put the pieces together. Liam was going to bomb the graduation ceremony at Quantico! The gang raced there to make sure hundreds of innocent people didn’t die.
Before splitting up to find Liam, Alex and Ryan shared one hot kiss! Swoon. Liam eventually had Ryan at gunpoint. Apparently, he was doing all of this because the FBI was corrupt and he hated it. Liam tried to justify his actions, but it didn’t work.
Alex didn’t waste any time putting a bullet in Liam’s head. Then Ryan took a few easy shots at him just for good measure. They found the nuke, but Simon realized he wouldn’t be able to disarm the bomb.
Going Down In A Blaze Of Glory
So, Simon TOOK THE BOMB. He stole a car and drove the nuke into the river with him still inside. The bomb exploded, but there was only one fatality — Simon Asher. Alex, Raina and the rest of the crew were with him until the very end. He died in a blaze of glory. He died a hero.
At Simon’s funeral, Alex confronted Claire Haas about being involved with Liam’s plans. Alex discovered that Claire had never had a blood pressure prescription, so there was no reason for Liam to make her switch it out. Except to make it look like Claire was a victim. Alex had Caleb on her side, and Alex told Claire she would be watching her all day, every day.
Alex wasn’t able to stay with the FBI, but that didn’t mean things were over for her. The end of the episode featured a man named Matthew Keyes, played by Revenge’s Henry Czerny, offering Alex a job with the CIA. In the middle of their very important convo, Ryan called Alex, but she didn’t pick up. Was he trying to warn her about Matthew?!
