The hosts of Good Morning Britain asked the Staff Sergeant, during her May 13 appearance on the show, why she asked Prince Harry to donate her medal to the men and women of the Papworth Hospital in Cambridgeshire. “They saved my life,” Elizabeth said. “I was hoping that it could be a token of gratitude for everything that they did for me. And it would mean more coming from their prince.”
Elizabeth became gravely ill with a lung infection ahead of the first Invictus Games in London in 2014, according to the Daily Mail. Thankfully, the medical staff was able to save her and she wanted Prince Harry to take a symbol of her love back to England. “It was a medal that he awarded me from my hardest race. It’s the only way I really can say thank you for what they’ve done,” she said.
However, Elizabeth actually got a chance to thank Dr. Alan Vuylsteke and nurse Jo-Anne Fowles, two professionals that saved her life. Through her tears of joy and sheer gratitude, the US military hero said, “I guess there’s no way to express my thanks and words, but thank you for giving me my life back.”
Elizabeth became the envy of many across the world as she charmed the British royal during the Invictus Games. Harry presented her the gold medal during the swimming finals and he also gave her a huge hug and a couple of kisses! For some, a kiss from a prince, especially Harry, is better than gold!
It almost seemed like Harry couldn’t keep his eyes off Elizabeth, as the GMB hosts said “you’re all over our papers this morning, saying he’s really taken a fondness with you.” Elizabeth seemed to brush this off, saying that Harry’s “kind” and “he knows what it’s like to walk the same path that we have and he really cares genuinely about all of us.” Perhaps Harry cares about Elizabeth a little bit more than others?
Are you glad Elizabeth donated her medal, HollywoodLifers? And what about her and Harry? Do you think they should give dating a try?
