This is hilarious. Ellen DeGeneres is a master at green-screening herself into popular videos and photos, and this time she’s taken on the video for ‘Hold Up’ from Beyonce’s ‘Lemonade’. Watch right here!
Ellen DeGeneres, 58, knows that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, and she paid Beyonce, 34, tribute by parodying her ultra-hit “Hold Up” from Lemonade in the May 13 episode of The Ellen Show. Ellen superimposed herself into the streets of NoLa, playing a character who watches Bey from the safety of her car as the singer smashes cars with a baseball bat. Check it out!
Ellen introduces the video in her usual joking manner: “Did you see me in it? I’ve been given permission to show it. I hope [Beyonce]’s not mad,” she says, with a tell-tale twinkle in her eye. As the footage rolls, we see that Ellen has inserted herself as an eyewitness to Beyonce’s car-smashing antics. She provides a running commentary to her “friend” on her phone while Beyonce beats up a car with a bat. “You will not believe this, but Beyonce has gone cray cray,” Ellen says into the phone. “I think she hates cars.”
After Bey busts open a fire hydrant with the bat, Ellen pretends to look offended. “Well, somebody doesn’t care about the drought,” she sniffs. Then Bey makes a beeline towards the talk show host: “Oh, no, here she comes,” Ellen says into the phone, before revealing who she’s been talking to the whole time. “Becky, I have to go. I’ll have to call you back, but I do love what you do with your hair. It looks great.” LOL! Shortly after, Beyonce jumps atop Ellen’s car and starts smashing the windows in — while Ellen is inside! So good.
HollywoodLifers, what do you think of Ellen’s parody?
