This is beyond awkward! Stephen Curry was presented with his MVP trophy before the Golden State Warriors game May 11, but when he went to shake NBA Commissioner Adam Silver’s hand, he got denied!
Oh man this is painful to watch! Adam Silver, 54, became the victim of NBA fans scorn when he didn’t notice Steph Curry, 28 reaching out his hand to shake it after introducing the hoops star at his MVP trophy presentation. Fans couldn’t believe their eyes that anyone could snub number 30 so publicly like that!
Steph was awarded his second consecutive NBA MVP trophy in a ceremony before the Warriors’ semifinals playoff game against the Portland Trailblazers. Needless to say the packed home house at Oracle Area was going nuts for their superstar, and Adam gave a brief introduction while Steph stood with his hands inside his sweatpants behind him.
Now here’s were it gets bizarre. Adam announced his name and instead of turning to the face Steph, he looked off in the other direction then put down his microphone. In the process he failed to see the NBA star had clearly had his hand outstretched to give the league’s commissioner a handshake before receiving his trophy, and the denial was written all over Steph’s face as he looked surprised and confused about being shut down. He eventually broke into a sheepish grin about it and seconds later he was hoisting the trophy into the air, totally moving past the embarrassing snub.

At least Steph can take heart in knowing that the sports writers of America basically named him one of the greatest players of all time, with the first ever completely unanimous vote that he be named the league’s MVP. He led his team to the best single season record of all time, breaking the record set by the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls with a mind-blowing 73 wins. Now that Steph’s back from a knee injury, we’re sure he’s going to lead the Warriors to their second straight NBA title!
HollywoodLifers, do you think Adam totally snubbed Steph? Or did he just honestly not see his hand?
