Kailyn and her friend were waiting for Justin outside his hotel on May 9, and when they finally got a chance to chat with him “he walked up to us, and was talking to us,” she explained to Mix 104.1. She videotaped the encounter, and the clip shows the 22-year-old looking a bit frustrated, as security warns her not to shove the phone in his face. “I got really excited because I couldn’t believe it was really him, so my first instinct was, ‘I need to give him a hug.’ So I walked over and I gave him a hug and I put my phone up and he didn’t like that,” Kailyn admitted. “The security guard said, ‘You shouldn’t do that without asking first.”
After realizing Justin’s reaction and getting major backlash for what happened, Kailyn made sure to apologize. “He was very overwhelmed,” she said. “I didn’t think he’d get mad about it, but he did.”

However, as we previously reported, this isolated incident isn’t the only reason behind Justin’s new policy. One day later, he was spending time at Lucky Strike in Boston, when another overzealous fan overstepped some boundaries and demanded a picture with him, implying that they deserved to do so “because they had bought [his] albums,” according to a rep from the bowling alley.
As for Justin’s decision, he explained: “It has gotten to the point that people won’t even say hi to me or recognize me as a human, I feel like a zoo animal, and I wanna be able to keep my sanity. I realize people will be disappointed but I don’t owe anybody a picture. and people who say “but I bought ur album” know that you got my album and you got what you paid for AN ALBUM! It doesn’t say in fine print whenever you see me you also get a photo.”
What do you think of Justin’s decision not to take photos with fans anymore, HollywoodLifers? Do you think this fan is the reason he decided to stop taking pictures?
