Uh oh! A woman has come out of the woodwork to file a $500,00o claim against Prince’s estate claiming he promised her that sum for being the “inspiration” behind an album he recorded over a decade ago!
Oh geez, this is getting crazy! An Alabama woman by the name of Kimberly Felecia Potts claims she inspired Prince to write his 2004 Musicology album and now she wants a great big payout from his estate. Keep reading for more details on the shocking new claims!
Kimberly says in recently filed legal documents that the late singer invited her to his Paisley Park estate in 2015 to reward her with $500,000 for helping him create his 2004 masterpiece Musicology, according to documents obtained by TMZ. Which doesn’t make a whole lot of sense because that album came out a dozen years ago and he would have had plenty of chances to richly reward her for her alleged “inspiration.”
The site also notes that Kimberly was the cause of a 911 call to police after she tried to break in to a side door at his estate in back in Jan. of this year. If she really was close to Prince and a muse that helped him create an album, he probably would have invited her to the studio and she wouldn’t have needed to trespass. She told police at the time that the singer had called her for a job, but obviously that wasn’t the case. Stream Prince’s music, completely unlimited and ad-free, RIGHT HERE.
Prince was married to his second wife Manuela Testolini when he wrote Musicology so it’s highly unlikely that he found another female muse that inspired him to write a new album. Not only that, he was deep into his faith as a Jehovah’s Witness at the time and many of the lyrics on the disc show his devotion to his new religion, not a new lady in his life.
HollywoodLifers, do you think people are now just making up claims to get part of Prince’s money?
