Anna Kendrick, 30, and Justin Timberlake, 35, surprised one Cannes Film Festival audience with a stunning acoustic performance. The pair, who both star as the voices of lead characters in the Trolls movie, sang “True Colors” from the film’s soundtrack, leaving the audience totally stunned by their combined talents.
Okay, how cool is this? After a screening of Trolls, Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake came out to surprise the Palais des Festivals audience with a performance of one of the film’s songs, “True Colors.” Of course, it’s a cover of the Cyndi Lauper original, but this gorgeous rendition of the 80’s classic will definitely make you tear up.
As they were performing Anna joked with the crowd, “What’s about to happen?” Then Justin introduced them as, “Anna and Garfunkel.” Too funny!
Justin played an acoustic guitar along with the help of a backup player, and both he and Anna sweetly crooned their way through the ballad. The audience was silent for the breathtaking performance, obviously in awe of what was happening right before their eyes. Talk about getting lucky at Cannes!
Not only do Anna and Justin co-voice characters in Trolls together, but he also featured her and other cast members in his music video for “Can’t Stop The Feeling.” The song will also be featured on the Trolls soundtrack, but was released as a single in anticipation for the film, which is set to be released on November 4. Unfortunately there is no trailer yet, but hopefully all of this hype means one is coming very soon!
