We have to say — the title ‘It’s Not Okay’ is pretty fitting for Andi Dorfman’s tell all. In new just-released excerpts, she reveals what happened between her and Josh Murray, and the verbal abuse she experienced.
The first thing we realized from Andi Dorfman‘s book: she refers to Josh Murray as “Number Twenty-Six,” since he’s the last of the 26 men (yes, including Juan Pablo Galavis) that she dated on TV. “It’s a girl-power thing. You don’t need to be a name,” she wrote in her new memoir, It’s Not Okay. So, what exactly went down in her post-Bachelorette romance? Well, it’s not pretty — and now she’s referring to it as “the most volatile and f–ked up relationship” she’s ever had.
“The best night of my life was the first night I spent with Number Twenty-Six,” she wrote in the book, via an excerpt in Us Weekly. She revealed that night was actually an overnight date, where yes, they did sleep together. “Let’s just say, yes, he got it up; yes, it was great; and yes, he was undoubtably in the No. 1 slot.” However, she also was intimate with runner-up Nick Viall, something she didn’t tell Josh at first. She admits in the book that she actually lied at first, but came clean before the airing.
“He was devastated, angry and hurt, badly. I apologized profusely for lying,” she wrote, adding that she realized he was more upset she had sex with someone else, than he was that she lied. “That one sexual escapade would become a power play used by my fiancé to justify his mistrust in me. It would be an excuse to call me a whore. And it would eventually lead to the demise of my engagement.”
Now, we knew that this was a big component for Josh — we told you after their split he was insanely jealous; however, it was a much bigger deal than anyone knew. She also claims Josh felt she was “selfish” for wanting to go back to work, and he wasn’t okay with her having friendships with other men. In September 2014, they had a huge fight and she gave back the ring. After that, nothing was the same. “I operated at two speeds: silent or angry,” she wrote.
However, as you probably remember, she did fly to Chris Soules‘ LA party with Josh. They fought during the trip, even though she thought, “if any place could magically press the restart button on our relationship, it was here,” since that’s where they fell in love. However, it didn’t happen and they split when they arrived back home in NYC. As for Josh, he released a statement to Us: “It saddens me and is very unfortunate that Andi has chosen to characterize me in such a negative way. I pray she finds peace.”
