The drama hasn’t stopped since Prince’s passing on April 21. The details behind the singer’s death still aren’t completely clear, and now the feds are trying to figure it all out. They just reportedly raided Prince’s house in Chanhassen, MN trying to crack down and target the doctors who gave the performer prescription opiates. Here’s the scoop!
A sheriff’s vehicle entered through the gates of Paisley Park along with several unmarked vehicles on Tuesday, May 10. The law enforcement raid comes after a search warrant, obtained by the Los Angeles Times, revealed that a Minnesota doctor named Dr. Michael Todd Schulenberg prescribed “medications and prescriptions” to Prince prior to his death. Dr. Schulemberg was a physician at North Memorial Medical Center’s clinic in Minnetonka, Minnesota, and he had seen Prince on April 7 and 20. During those visits, he had written prescriptions for the singer, which were to be filled at Walgreens. He was at the singer’s house on the day of his death to reportedly deliver medical test results. To hear more about Prince, head over to iTunes and download the latest HollywoodLife podcast for free!
The authorities are looking for all of Prince’s medical records from North Memorial Medical Center, and any legal records attached to those files, to see who else could possibly be held responsible for his tragic passing. “Detectives are revisiting the scene at Paisley Park as a component of a complete investigation. No other information is available,” said the local Sherrif’s Office tweeted Tuesday afternoon.
The day before he passed, Prince’s representatives reached out to California opioid addiction specialist Dr. Howard Kornfeld. Dr. Kornfeld sent his son, Andrew, to meet with the singer, who, along with two staffers, found Prince unconscious in his elevator. The son allegedly had a backpack filled with synthetic opiates on the day Prince died, reports TMZ. Because of that, he’s under federal investigation as well.

Law enforcement officials are trying to determine if the late icon was unlawfully given these medications prior to his passing. It has been reported that overdose was Prince’s cause of death.
