Any beauty expert will tell you that using a highlighter can make all the difference in the world when it comes to making your skin appear to light up from within! If there’s any celebrity who’s mastered the art of doing this, it’s Kim Kardashian. In a recent episode of her app video series The Look, Kim gave us a look at the product she uses to strobe, or highlight, her face — Anastasia Beverly Hills’ Illuminator. Get is now for $28 at Net-a-Porter.com!
By applying the Illuminator to the bridge of her nose, cheeks, cupid’s bow and chin, Kim’s makeup artist creates a look that’s luminescent and selfie-ready.
If you’re thinking that strobing is just another complicated makeup technique like its counterpart, contouring, Kim’s makeup artist explains that it’s actually much simpler. “Strobing is the idea of highlighting without the contouring,” Mario Dedivanovic says in the video. He also suggests using the Illuminator on top of a cream highlighter for an extra brightening effect, while simply dusting it on its own over the high points of your face for an everyday glow.
What we love about the highlighter is that it comes in four different shade combinations, so there’s something for every complexion. So Hollywood, the shade that Kim uses, is perfect for tanner skin tones. There’s also Peach Nectar for lighter complexions and Starlight” that’s a universal highlighter!
