Justin Bieber got a new tat and the location has Beliebers in a frenzy! JB opted for a face tattoo for his latest ink, but the artist who did it for him made sure fans know that it has a totally special meaning. Find out what it is right here!
What do you mean with your face tattoo, Justin Bieber? The 22-year-old “Sorry” singer got a small cross in the corner of right eye on May 6, which had fans wondering why he chose to put ink on his face. While Justin’s new tat is certainly one of his most noticeable tattoos, it’s also one of his most meaningful — let tattoo artist Jonboy tell you why!
“Justin came in last night and decided on a small cross near the corner of his eye,” tattoo artist Jonboy told Us Weekly. “It represents his journey in finding purpose with God.”
Wow, that’s deep JB! Although it’s a bit unclear as to what made Justin put the cross on his face versus a less-obvious place, it could simply be because the meaning is so important. Since making his comeback with his album Purpose, Justin has been adamant about telling fans that his connection with God has grown immensely in the last year. Looks like he wanted to put that in writing…err, ink! Listen to Justin’s music, completely unlimited and ad-free, RIGHT HERE.
As soon as Justin revealed his face tattoo on Instagram on May 7, fans immediately took to social media to freak out over the shockingly bold move. But what Beliebers seemed to have forgotten was that Justin actually hinted that a face tattoo would be happening eventually!
“I think if they’re done right they could be cool,” Justin explained in an interview with GQ. “Nothing like super crazy all over the face.”
While Justin kept his word on keeping the face tat simple, he did also mention that he probably wouldn’t get any tattoos on his face until he was in his 40s or 50s — so it’s fair for fans to be a bit surprised! Clearly Justin couldn’t wait to have a tattoo that means so much to him, though, so we give him props for not caring what people think about his ink!
