Jon Snow is back, and he’s a whole new man. He rose from the dead on the May 8 episode of ‘Game of Thrones,’ and many people didn’t make it out of Castle Black alive.
Yes, Jon Snow is still alive. The formally dead Lord Commander got a second chance at life, and he didn’t waste any time on the May 8 episode. Jon Snow made a shocking decision, Bran learned more about his father’s past, and something huge happened to Arya!
Davos couldn’t believe his eyes. Jon Snow was ALIVE. Like, not dead and actually breathing. Jon was still butt naked on the table, and it was a sight to behold. Then he started to freak out. He was now alive after dying, after all.
All he could remember was that Olly and some men of the Night’s Watch stabbed him. “I shouldn’t be here,” Jon cried. Melisandre ran to his side and asked him what he saw after he died. “Nothing. There was nothing at all,” he said.
Davos had a talk with Jon. He knew it was “completely f–king mad” that Jon was alive. “I did what I thought was right and I got murdered for it,” Jon said. He started to question why he was back in the first place. Davos urged Jon to go and fight as long as he could, even if he failed again.
Jon got dressed and went outside. The Wildlings and men of Castle Black alike were stunned to see Jon walking around. Tormund told him the men thought he was “some kind of god.” Then he cracked a penis joke. Oh, Tormund.
Welcome To The Tower Of Joy
Meanwhile, Sam was on a boat with Gilly. He wasn’t handling the sea that well. The poor guy still didn’t know Jon Snow was now alive. He offered shelter to Gilly and the baby at his home.
Bran and the Three-Eyed-Raven were experiencing yet another vision. This one featured Ned Stark again and Howland Reed at the Tower of Joy. They were prepared to fight three men of the Kingsguard, including Ser Arthur Dayne, to get to Lyanna. The Mad King and Rhaegar were both dead. Ned and his companions battled the Kingsguard. Ned was the only one left standing until Howland came up from behind and killed their final adversary.
Ned heard a woman scream. Yeah, we all know that was Lyanna. Bran called out to Ned, and his father turned around. But then the Three-Eyed-Raven pulled Bran back. He begged to see more. Bran was desperate to know what happened in the tower. The Three-Eyed-Raven urged Bran that answers would come in time and he would learn everything.
Talk To Varys, Or Else
Meanwhile, Daenerys was still at the mercy of the Dothraki. She was taken the Dosh Khaleen, where the women stripped her naked. The main woman told Dany she had a lot to learn. Dany had gone out into the world, which was forbidden for a Khal widow. Things are about to get a lot worse for Dany.
Over in Meereen, Varys was using his incredible gossiping skills to get to the bottom of the Sons of the Harpy. He found a woman who helped the Sons of the Harpy and wanted to extract information from her. In order to get what he wanted, he threatened her son’s life. But he also offered her a deal. She could get away if she spilled the beans.
While waiting for Varys, Tyrion spent some quality time with Missandei and Greyworm. It was pretty awkward for Tyrion. Varys finally arrived back and had discovered who funded the Sons of the Harpy. Leave it to badass Varys to get answers. Let’s face it, he plays the game better than anyone.
Whatever Happened To Gregor Clegane?
Cersei and Jaime paid Qyburn a little visit. Jaime wanted to know what Qyburn had done to Gregor. Cersei wanted to make sure everyone outside of King’s Landing knew she was ready to fight. She was a woman scorned.
She walked in on a council meeting that included her uncle and Olenna. Cersei and Jaime totally took over the meeting. However, everyone soon got up because of Gregor. To them, he was an abomination. They better watch it.
Tommen went to see the High Sparrow and demanded that he reveal Myrcella’s final resting place to Cersei. Well, apparently, Cersei didn’t completely atone for her sins. Because walking through the streets naked wasn’t enough. The High Sparrow managed to calm Tommen down with words the poor boy probably didn’t even understand.
‘My Watch Has Ended’
Arya and the Waif continued to go head-to-head. The Waif asked Arya about her past, her kill list and The Hound. She admitted she left The Hound to die, but she had taken him off her list. Arya kept getting stronger. “If a girl tells me her name, I will give her her eyes back,” Jaqen told Arya.
This was her final test. Arya stayed strong. He made her drink a cup of water. And with that, Arya could see again!
Ramsay had a meeting with a lord, who knew about Jon Snow and his Wildlings. He wanted to work together to make sure Jon didn’t venture beyond Castle Black and come south. Ramsay told the lord to pledge House Bolton, but the guy wasn’t game for that. They eventually reached an agreement, with the lord offering up RICKON and OSHA as gifts. Oh my god. Please don’t let Rickon become Reek 2.0. Pretty please!
Jon Snow went before the Wildlings and the Night’s Watch. He had the men, including Alliser and Olly, who betrayed (and killed) him ready to hang at Castle Black. Jon showed them no mercy. He drew his sword, cut the rope, and watched them take their last breaths.
He went up to Edd and handed him his cloak. “You have Castle Black. My watch has ended,” he said to Edd. THEN JON SNOW LEFT THE NIGHT’S WATCH. FOR GOOD.
