Damon may have ‘dialed H for Hero’ to reach Stefan, but he was no hero in Caroline’s eyes. (At least he still had the hero hair!)
Now that Bonnie Bennett (Kat Graham) has taken over Rayna’s role as a vampire hunter, all of her friends (and Damon) gathered to get into her head and snap her out of it — but instead it was more snapping necks. Well, figuratively.

So, who could possibly convince Bonnie that when she wakes up, she doesn’t want to kill everyone she knows? Well, Matt actually but we’ll get to that. First, both Caroline (Candice King) and Enzo (Michael Malarkay) tried and failed — oh yeah, they were also both marked, so now they’re being hunted too. Oh yeah, Bonnie also told Enzo she wanted to die instead of forget their romance and memories — but Damon wasn’t going to let her die.
Naturally that meant it was Damon (Ian Somerhalder)’s turn to take a swing at Bon Bon — and he decided to go back to the dark side. He chose to bring Bonnie to Elena’s (Nina Dobrev) house, but instead of making Bonnie remember the good times, he said everything he could to piss her off to try and get her to mark him, too — including “goodbye” so that he could see Elena again. Speaking of, we saw a glimpse of Elena’s silhouette in the window (which to me, was a little Dawson’s Creek). Yup, they went there. Catch up on The Vampire Diaries episodes now.
Well it worked; she woke up ready to kill him after pulling out his heart. However, it later led to a very beautiful Bamon moment that I totally teared up over. After Matt used the old fashioned way to help Bonnie not kill her friends (you know, reminding her of her past), he agreed to help her kill Damon. During that hunt, she pretty much kicked his vampire ass and led to the sweet Damon that only Bon Bon brings out; he showed her her grave from Remembrance Day, if he had to die, he wanted it to be in honor of her. He also asked for her forgiveness, and told her he loved her the same way Elena loved her. Yeah she rose the stake anyway, and nearly killed him until Matt saved him. Oh, Matty.
That came back to bite him in the butt though; she ended up attacking him too while he was trying to driver her out of town but since Matt survives everything, we can assume he’ll be fine. The Bon-Bon storyline ended with Enzo revealing he may have found a way to sever the curse, by heading back into the basement. The problem? She had sealed it shut with the evil inside.
On the Steroline front, Stefan forced her out of town to save her after being marked. You know, he used “a notch above flowers and chocolates” — AKA vervain. They sort of hashed out their mess, with a lot of “I love you’s.” Alaric told her, Stefan told her, and well, she didn’t say it to either one.”I loved you and you left me” was her answer to Stefan. Yikes!
However, there was a ping of hope. I mean running away together worked for him and Val, right? Poor Ric. Again. Also side note for Klaroline fans, Caroline mentioned the K-word this week and the fact that she couldn’t get ahold of him. Sigh.
Do you think Bonnie killed Matt? Do you think Steroline are end game? Let us know!
