Cinco De Mayo: Try These 19 Delicious Caliente Cocktails

Cinco de Mayo is here! We have spicy margaritas, sangria and even a Mexican Mint Julep! These recipes are easy to whip up and so yummy. Check out the cocktails below and tell us what you think.

The Missy Migos

This is a play on the Paloma Cocktail, a classic from Mexico. Rather than using a squirt of sweet grapefruit soda we blend fresh ingredients.

Add all ingredients to a shaker with ice. Shake until blended, pour into a Collins glass and garnish with a slice of jalapeno.

1 ¼ oz Casamigos Blanco Tequila
2 ½ oz Southern Pressed Juicery “Hot Mess” Juice (grapefruit, orange, lime, lemon, ginger, cayenne, camu powder)
1 ¼ soda
½ oz simple syrup

Sparkling Raspberry Lemonade
Ingredients

1 Bottle Santa Margherita Prosecco Superiore
1/8 Cup Sugar
1/8 Cup Lemon Sugar
1/2 Tablespoon Lemon Rind, Grated
1 Cup Mashed Raspberries

Directions:
Combine sugar and juice in a small saucepan, bring to a boil
Reduce heat and simmer for 1 minute, stirring until sugar dissolves
Remove from heat
Stir in lemon rind and ½ cup of mashed raspberries
Combine mixture and Santa Margherita Prosecco Superiore in pitcher
Sprinkle remaining raspberries among the glasses

Cruzan® Pineapple Crush

Ingredients:
1 1/2 parts Cruzan® Single Barrel Rum
1/2 part Cruzan® Pineapple Rum
Juice of one whole Lime
4 one inch cubes of Fresh Pineapple
4-6 leaves of Fresh Sage
Soda Water

Method: In a mixing glass, muddle the sage with the lime juice first, then add the pineapple and muddle again. Add Cruzan® Rums. Stir. Pour into a tall highball glass over ice. Spritz with soda water. Garnish with a pineapple wedge.

Sangria Margarita from Blue Ice Vodka

8 strawberries (hulled and sliced)
1 lime (juiced)
2 orange (juiced)
4 ozs vodka (UV Sangria)
1 oz tequila
1 oz orange liqueur
ice coarse
salt (or sugar)

Mile High

2 oz. Tequila Avión Silver
1 oz. Pineapple juice
1/2 oz. Agave nectar
1/2 oz. Fresh lime juice
2 Jalapeños wheels
Pineapple wedge or lime wheel for garnish
Lightly muddle jalapeño wheels and agave nectar in a shaker. Add the remaining ingredients, fill with ice and shake until well chilled. Strain into a large rocks glass that has been rimmed with a mixture of chili powder and salt. Garnish with a lime wheel or pineapple wedge.

Rita Rioja

¾ oz. Fresh Squeezed Lime Juice
¾ oz. Simple Syrup (equal parts sugar and water)
1½ oz. Tequila Avión Reposado
Fresh Red Pepper
Cilantro
Rub the rim of a glass with a wedge of fresh lime and dip into some salt. Add some spice to your margarita by muddling a piece of red pepper and a little bit of cilantro to bring out their natural flavors. Add your key ingredient: 1½ ounces Tequila Avión Reposado, and ¾ ounce each of fresh lime juice and simple syrup. Then fill your mixing glass with ice. Give your cocktail a good shake to chill, and strain it into your salted glass. Then, garnish with a piece of red pepper and cilantro. Enjoy!

The Flying Paloma by Tad Carducci

1.5 oz Diplomático Reserva Exclusiva
.5 oz. fresh lime
.5 oz. ginger liqueur
3 oz. grapefruit soda
Pinch salt.
Add all ingredients, including salt, to a tall glass filled with ice. Stir briskly and garnish with a wedge of lime.

Avión Old School

2 oz. Avión Añejo
1/2 oz. Simple syrup
1 Orange slice
1 Cherry
Dash of bitters
Muddle cherry, orange, bitters & simple syrup. Add Avión Añejo, ice & shake well. Strain into a rocks glass filled with fresh ice and garnish with orange peel.

Rosa Picante Margarita

2 oz Patrón Silver
.5 oz Patrón Citrónge Lime
1 oz fresh squeezed lime juice
.5 oz ginger syrup
Bar spoon jalapeño oil
Dash rosewater
Rose petal sea salt

Method:
Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker and shake with ice to chill. Strain into a chilled cocktail coupe that has been half-rimmed with rose sea salt, and top with a dash of rose water. Garnish with a rose petal, if available.

Spicy Jalapeño Margarita

Ingredients:
2 parts Blanco Tequila
1/2 part Gran Gala
4 drops Hellfire Habenero shrub or 3 slices of Jalapeño pepper
Juice of 1/8 lime
1 1/2 parts Lemon Lime Sparkling Ice

Directions: Shake Tequila, Gran Gala, lime juice and peppers with ice. Pour into rocks glass with salted rim and lime wedge. Top with Lemon Lime Sparkling Ice.

Grapefruit Jalapeño Martini
Ingredients:
3 oz. Pink Grapefruit Sparkling Ice
1 ½ oz. Vodka
1 oz. Lime Juice
Lime Wedge
Sliced Fresh Jalapeño
Chili Salt for Rim of Glass (Kosher Salt Mixed with Chili Powder)

Directions: Use a lime wedge to rub the entire rim of a chilled martini glass, and dip into chili salt mixture. Combine vodka and jalapeno slices with ice in a shaker. Strain and pour into the chilled martini glass. Top with Pink Grapefruit Sparkling Ice. Garnish with a few Jalapeno slices.

Midori® Margarita

INGREDIENTS
1 part Midori® Melon Liqueur
1 1/2 parts Sauza® Signature Blue Silver Tequila
2/3 part Fresh Lime Juice
Salt
Lime Wheel, for garnish

METHOD: Pour Sauza® tequila, Midori® and fresh lime juice into a cocktail shaker. Add ice and shake well. Rim a chilled cocktail/tumbler/rocks glass with salt. Strain the shaken cocktail into the glass, top with ice and garnish with a lime wheel.

Midori® Pina Punch

Serves 4-5
INGREDIENTS
4 parts Midori® Melon Liqueur
4 parts Pinnacle® Pineapple Vodka
12 parts Pineapple Juice
4 part Mango Juice
Mango Slices
Pineapple Slices

METHOD: Pour all ingredients into a punch bowl over ice. Stir well and garnish with pineapple and mango slices.

Mexican Mint Julep

1 ¼ parts Hornitos® Black Barrel® Tequila
½ part fresh lime juice
¾ part simple syrup
Fresh mint leaves

Preparation: Lightly muddle mint leaves in a shaker, add ice and combine remainder of ingredients. Shake vigorously and strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice. Garnish with a sprig of mint leaves and serve.

Mango Habanero Margarita

1 ¾ parts Milagro Silver tequila
¾ parts Orange Curacao
1 part mango puree – Perfect Puree
1 part scratch sour mix
2 slices fresh habanero
4 drops Bitterman’s Hellfire Habanero Shrub – available at Tommy Bahama

Glassware: Double Rocks or Similar

Ice: Cubes

Garnish: Habanero Slices & Salted Rim

Instructions: Pour all ingredients into a mixing glass, add ice and shake with a Boston shaker to blend. Pour into salt rimmed glass and top with 2 slices of habanero.

Lavender Amor

2 parts Milagro Silver
1 part Fresh Grapefruit Juice
.5 Part Lavender & Vanilla Syrup
.5 Fresh Lime Juice
3 Parts DRY Lavender Soda

Garnish: Grapefruit peel & lavender Kosher salt

La Flaquita

Ingredients
1 can Orange Zevia
1.5 oz tequila
1 orange rind
1 lime
Salt for garnish

Directions
Coat rim of glass with salt by wetting rim with a clean, damp washcloth and then gently rubbing rim into salt poured into a dish.
Pour 1.5 oz tequila (roughly 1 shot), squeeze in half a lime. Add the lime and the orange rind to the glass.
Pour in Zevia Orange soda, leaving room for ice.
Mix gently and top with ice. Garnish with another lime wedge (optional).

The Hiatus

2 parts Hornitos® Plata Tequila (50ml travel bottle)
3 parts premium ginger ale
2 dashes of bitters
2 lime wedges

Preparation: Add all ingredients into a cup with ice, including juice from 1 lime wedge. Stir well to mix ingredients and garnish with lime wedge.

Spicy Repo

2 parts Hornitos® Reposado Tequila (50ml travel bottle)
3 parts fresh pineapple juice
2 dashes hot sauce
2 lime wedges

Preparation: Add all ingredients into a cup with ice, including juice from 1 lime wedge. Stir well to mix ingredients and garnish with lime wedge.
