The Penguins are flying in their home games this post season, going 3-1. That’a massive improvement on their previous playoff games when they were a very sorry 0-4. It really is quite a change in fortunes for Pittsburgh, who will quietly fancy their chances of claiming a Stanley Cup Final spot.
They controlled the tempo for the first two games, and went on the road to earn a split in Washington with a win in game 2. In game 3 they struggled with the wave of attacks coming from the Capitals, but thanks to incredible goal-tending from rookie Matt Murray. Matt made an incredible 47 saves on 49 shots
Washington did have the best regular season record of any playoff team, but as hockey fans will know you don’t get anything for the way you start the season, it’s all about the way you finish. The Penguins are 20-4 in their last 24 games, so they’re red hot at the moment!
If Washington want to win this, they will have to play just like they did in game 3. However, they’ll need all the luck they can get to beat Matt in goal!
