The details surrounding the days before Prince’s tragic death on April 21 are continuing to unfold, and if this new report is true, things might’ve been worse for the singer than we originally thought. He was allegedly set to meet with an addiction expert on April 22…but, unfortunately, it was sadly too late.
The people in Prince’s life were reportedly very worried about his state in the days before his death, and they even took measures to set him up with an addiction expert, according to a new report. It was too little too late, though, as the meeting was scheduled for April 22 and the singer unexpectedly died one day earlier.
On April 20, Prince’s representatives scheduled a meeting for the 57-year-old with opioid addiction expert Dr. Howard Kornfeld because he was “dealing with a grave medical emergency,” the Kornfeld family attorney claims to The Star Tribune.
Dr. Kornfeld couldn’t make it to Minnesota from California until the 22nd, so he sent his son, Andrew, on a red-eye for a sit-down on the morning of the 21st. “The plan was to quickly evaluate his health and devise a treatment plan,” the attorney says. “The doctor was planning on a lifesaving mission.”‘
Prince’s autopsy was completed on April 22, but the toxicology reports won’t be compiled for weeks, so his cause of death is still unknown. However, because there were allegedly painkillers found at the scene, officials have confirmed that they’re “considering” that this may have been an overdose.
Less than a week before his death, Prince’s plane made an emergency landing because he allegedly suffered from a Percocet overdose. He had to be administered with a “save shot” to be revived, and even though he assured fans he was fine just two days later, it seems like things weren’t as perfect as he made them seem. So sad.
HollywoodLifers, are you shocked that Prince might’ve had a problem with drugs? Do you believe these allegations?
