Jordan was wearing headphones when we was hit by the silver Range Rover on early Sunday morning, and police believe he couldn’t hear the SUV approaching. They’re currently searching for the hit and run driver. A damaged side mirror from the vehicle was left at the scene of the crime, and that may point them in the right direction.
A $1000 reward is being offered for anyone who has any information about the incident that can lead to the driver’s arrest. It’s unclear what specifically caused Jordan’s death at this time. After the accident, he reportedly had to have part of his leg amputated.
“It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of a dear member of the Bellator family, Jordan Parsons,” Scott Coker wrote in a statement. “Jordan was an exceptional athlete and a rising star in the sport. But more importantly, he was an exceptional young man. Jordan was hard-working, dedicated, intelligent, and a pleasure to be around. He represented all the reasons we love this sport. It is a terribly tragic loss and our thought and prayers go out to his family, friends and teammates.
