If last night’s Met Gala is anything to go by, our eyebrows are about to get a lot bolder in the future. From brows that were bleached away like Katy Perry’s, to arches that were loaded up with glitter like Lily Aldridge’s, see the night’s boldest looks!
When you come up with a Met Gala theme like Manus x Machina, you’re bound to get some over-the-top looks on the red carpet. At NYC’s Met Gala on May 2, some celebs, like Kim Kardashian and Katy Perry, sported looks so detailed, even their eyebrows were involved.

Never one to play it safe, Katy Perry dove right into the fashion meets technology theme with an embellished ball gown, modern beehive hairstyle with blunt bangs and a super detailed makeup look. Sporting bright blue mascara and an almost black lip, Katy’s makeup artist, Todd Delano, completely bleached out Katy’s eyebrows.
Similarly, Kim Kardashian debuted barely-there brows as well, which complemented her head-to-toe metallic look. Kim shared a close-up shot of her beauty look, which also included frosty eye makeup and slicked-back, wet hair, saying: “Robot glam! We did a bleached brow, which I love for editorial or a themed fashion event like the Met. It’s fun to take a risk at an event like this! & wet slicked back hair. @makeupbymario @cesar4styles.”
Then there was model Lily Aldridge, who instead of making her brows disappear, made them the focal point of her beauty look by covering her eyebrows in gold glitter! If you want to try a toned down version of her look, you can coat your brows with the Anastasia Beverly Hills Tinted Brow Gel in Blonde. Or, really go for it by first applying an adhesive like the Lit Glitter Base to your brows before covering them with any shade of loose glitter you like.
Lily’s makeup artist for the night, Quinn Murphy, also added some glitter to actress Freida Pinto‘s look, by accenting her brows with lines of glitter just under her arches. An easy way to add some glitter to your festival look, by keeping the glitter under your brows, it’s much easier to remove at the end of the day. To try it for yourself, simply use a glitter eyeliner like the Urban Decay Heavy Metal Glitter Eyeliner, and follow the natural line of your brows, building it as thick as you like.
What do you think of the Met Gala’s bizarre beauty trend? Would you try one of the above brow looks, HollywoodLifers?
