1. He didn’t start out his athletic career in wrestling
Enzo was actually a football player first — he played at his high school in Waldwick, New Jersey, then went on to continue his career at Division III school, Salisbury University, from 2007-2009.
2. He had no prior wrestling experience when he signed with WWE
How crazy is that?! Enzo was a longtime fan of wrestling, so he made a video of himself doing a few moves. Coincidentally, WWE star Triple H trained at the same gym as him in New Jersey, and their trainer showed him the tape, which led to his tryout at WWE. He made his debut at NXT in 2013.
3. He’s on a Tag Team with Colin Cassady who is also known as Big Cass
The guys had actually met years before when Enzo was just 15 years old and they played basketball together. They reunited at NXT in Aug. 2013, after they both lost to Mason Ryan. They wrestled in NXT for nearly three years, before finally moving up to the main WWE roster in April 2016.
4. He’s stereotyped as a loudmouth from New Jersey
Enzo has used his native state of New Jersey to develop his WWE character, a stereotypical, cocky guy from the Jersey Shore. Some of his nicknames include “Jersey’s Finest” and “The Realest Guy In The Room.”
5. He’s held a series of odd jobs before finding his calling in wrestling
Between college and his start in the WWE, Enzo worked as a DJ for the New York Jets, piano mover and manager at a Hooters restaurant. It’s safe to say he’s finally found where he belongs, though!
Are you a fan of Enzo, HollywoodLifers? Are you shocked he’s okay after that crazy injury!?
