Sarah Jessica Parker looked less than fabulous at the 2016 Met Gala in NYC on May 2. The actress, and constant fashion inspiration, wore an all white Monse capri pant suit inspired by this year’s ‘Manus x Machina’ theme. Is it a hit or miss?
Sarah Jessica Parker, 51, is never afraid to take fashion risks! Everyone thought it was impossible for the star to top her marvelous 2015 H&M gown and over the top Philip Treacy custom designed headdress, but she proved everyone wrong by dancing to the beat of her own drum. Love it or hate it, she reminded the world once again that she is a fashion force to be reckoned with!
This year she didn’t back down, and wore something that got even more heads turning — a pant suit. You have to respect a woman who pushes the envelope when it comes to fashion. Who could forget the incredible headdress Sarah rocked the the 2015 Met Ball that sparked dozens of internet meme’s?!
Instead of the typical flowing gown that most attendee’s opted for, Sarah went for a more subtle all white ensemble — and it wasn’t a dress! The all white Monse capri pant suit was beautiful, but sadly, left much to be desired. Although Sarah did have her reasons behind the strange get-up, apparently her outfit was inspired by the hit musical Hamilton.
Let’s be real, because there are not very many fashion choices that Sarah can’t pull off. However, this one left fans of the star very divided. While some enjoyed the strong departure from the expected, she may have gone just a little too far and missed the mark.
The Met Gala is the biggest event in Fashion, and when it comes down to it, no one shines brighter than Sarah. Try as you may, it’s hard not to enjoy the risky fashion choices she shows up in year after year.
