It’s not every day you get to dine with the President, and Nina Dobrev, 27, pulled out all the beauty stops at the annual White House Correspondents’ Dinner on April 30. Held in Washington, D.C., the actress left her boho style behind in favor of a more sophisticated look.

For the dressed up occasion, Nina chose a black, floor length Kaufmanfranco gown that included a thigh-high slit and a sparkling silver panel across the bust and down the sides of the dress. To complete her look, Nina carried a silver clutch and added bright pink heels to match her lip and add a playful twist to her look.
Makeup artist Johny Saade was behind Nina’s statement-making pink lip and the rest of her flawless WHCD makeup. Keeping her skin clean and radiant, Johny defined Nina’s eyes with brown liner, soft silvery eyeshadow and oversized lashes.
To copy her look, dust the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder over your base. The three-in-one palette lets you add a subtle contour to your cheekbones while also giving your skin a lit-from-within glow thanks to the light-reflecting powder that brightens your complexion while softening imperfections. For her pop of pink, use the Bite Beauty Matte Crème Lip Crayon in Pink Lady, whose pencil applicator lets you line and fill your lips more precisely and makes on-the-go touch-ups a breeze.
While Nina usually goes for tousled, beachy waves, for the WHCD, Nina’s hairstylist, Christophe Saluzzo, gave her a polished blowout with loose curls. Parting her hair off to the side, Christophe brushed her hair away from her face to show off her makeup and add an Old Hollywood vibe to her look. To give your next blowout a glossy finish like Nina’s, spray your hair with a shine spray like L’Oréal Paris Advanced Haircare Nutri-Gloss High Shine Glossing Mist.
