The 29-year-old was released from the hospital on the very same night he was admitted, and the WWE tweeted out a promising photo of him giving two thumbs up and smiling outside the medical building. Although he was still wearing his hospital scrubs, he definitely appeared to be in good spirits, clearly thankful that this injury wasn’t worse and even more serious.
In case you missed what went down last night, it was quite a horrifying moment in Enzo’s match against The Vaudevillains. Rather than slipping under the ropes like planned, Enzo hit the ropes and mat of the ring, and wound up flying to the floor, snapping his neck in the process. And knocking himself out.
It was so frightening, and his tag team partner, Colin Cassady, immediately rushed to his side to see if he was okay as the referees stopped the match.
Fans looked on in fear as medical personnel attended to the wrestler, and he was carted off with a neck brace on a stretcher. Luckily, the WWE updated their Twitter not much later to let fans know that Enzo was talking, as well as moving his arms and legs, so things weren’t as bad as initially thought.
After getting tested at the local hospital, Enzo received more good news, as all his tests came back negative, and it turns out he only suffered from a concussion. It’s all still VERY scary, of course, but we’re so glad he’s better than originally thought!
