Prince’s personal chef has revealed that the ‘Purple Rain’ star suffered from severe stomach pains and a sore throat in the days before his death, according to a new report. Click for all the details!
A personal chef who worked for Prince, who died on Apr. 21 aged just 57, has revealed that the “Purple Rain” singer was suffering with severe stomach pains and a sore throat before he died, according to a new report. Cook Ray Roberts also revealed that Prince requested foods that were easier to digest — just days before he passed away at his Paisley Park compound in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Ray, who prepared meals for Prince for almost three years, told AP that the legendary performer “wasn’t himself probably the last month or two” and had to make him smoothies and freshly juices because they were “easier to digest.”
The chef also said that Prince’s diet changed dramatically, and he was eating less and not drinking much water as his weight plummeted. “I think he was just struggling with being sick a lot,” Ray added.
Investigators are still trying to puzzle how Prince exactly died, with reports suggesting he may have had a drug overdose. He has been said to have taken painkillers to treat a long-standing hip complaint after having surgery in 2010. But so far, without the toxicology results, it’s all speculative for the moment.
As we told you, Prince also reportedly entered an outpatient program, just a month before he died as he allegedly began seeking help for his issues, although again it was speculated that he may have been seeking help for drug-related problems.
Don’t forget that when we first heard Prince wasn’t doing great, and his plane had to make an emergency landing, early reports said he had the flu. Later, TMZ claimed that he had overdosed on Percocet and had to have a “save shot” to bring him back to life.
