If the Islanders can upset the Lightning in front of a Tampa Bay crowd at Amalie Arena in this game 2, they will be set-up to finish a sweep on their home ice. It has been over 30 years since the Islanders last had a 2 game lead in a series. In 1983, they pulled ahead of the Edmonton Oilers in the Stanley Cup Finals before handling them in four and winning the cup. This season the Islanders are fourth overall in the NHL when it comes to penalty killing and have been executing well in the playoffs so far. That’s nothing to be embarrassed about.
Shane Prince, 23, The Islanders center from Rochester, New York, was one goal short of a hat trick in the first game against Tampa Bay. Thanks to Shane, the Islanders out scored the Lightning 5-3 in game 1. If Shane can stay hot and get more of his guys involved in scoring, they may have another series sweep in front of them.

It is injuries that may prevent Tampa from getting out of this round. The Lightning have key defensemen who are no where near ready for full contact on the ice. That’s too bad cause they put together a solid 46-31 regular season record in the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference. The Lightning will come out swinging in this game so watch for some blood in the rink before these two head back to New York for at least two more.
