Justin Timberlake has been the subject of the super famous ‘It’s Gonna Be May’ meme for years now, but this time, the former NSYNC member totally beat us to it!
Justin Timberlake, we see what you did there. The 35-year-old tweeted about the time-honored tradition of announcing “It’s gonna be May” on May 1 social media — before the rest of the Internet could! See what he posted on April 29 right here.
Justin completely beat us to the punch here. Just look at this sneakyness:
Everybody… It is ACTUALLY GONNA BE MAY!#canyoumemeyourself
Probably not, right?

He is referring, of course, to the “It’s Gonna Be May” meme, which is based on the lyric from the chorus of the iconic NSYNC song “It’s Gonna Be Me”. In early 2012, a user on Tumblr posted a pic of Justin with the caption “It’s gonna be May,” pointing out that it’s funny how JT pronounces “me” like “may” in the song.
The meme escalated from there when in March 2012, BuzzFeed published a pic of a calendar turned to the month of April with a photo of JT’s meme taped on the final day. From then on, it became tradition to post on Facebook, Tumblr or Twitter on the last day of April to celebrate the coming of May.
Speaking of surprises, a new report claims that Justin might be joining his ex Britney Spears on stage for a duet at her Las Vegas show sometime soon! “Britney called Justin out of the blue and said she wanted him to come to Vegas and do a series of concerts with her,” InTouch Weekly reported. “At first he laughed it off, but he was definitely intrigued.” That would make all of our ’90s dreams come true!
HollywoodLifers, what do you think of JT getting the jump on his meme this year?
