It comes as no surprise that Beyonce had a VERY good reason for dedicating her closing number to her man, Jay Z, and HollywoodLife.com can reveal EXCLUSIVELY why she did it. And yes, it had a little something to do with the ‘Lemonade’ controversy.
Beyonce, 34, doesn’t do anything without putting a lot of thought into it, and that’s just one of the many reasons she happens to be a creative genius. When it came time to show her husband, Jay Z, 46, some love during the opening night of her Formation World Tour in Miami, Florida on Wednesday, April 27, she didn’t hesitate to give him the best shout out ever.

Beyonce kicked off the Formation World Tour without one single cameo from her hubby and constant collaborator, Jay Z, but that doesn’t mean he wasn’t on her mind the entire time she was on stage. Before saying goodnight to her sold out crowd, Beyonce dedicated a very special song to Jay Z, and sources have revealed what prompted her to make such a statement.
“Beyonce has a heart and actually felt sad for Jay. She was with him when people were booing him yesterday and she knows he’s taking a beating in the media and in the public,” a source close to the couple tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. “She wanted to make him feel good, just a bit, and that’s one of the reasons she dedicated ‘Halo’ to him.”
How sweet is that? It’s great to see Beyonce and Jay putting their love on display, especially after all of the wild speculation about their relationship that was sparked by her latest visual album, Lemonade. Of course, that’s also the same reason Jay was taking a “beating,” according to our source.
“In her heart, she knows he’s a good man, a good business partner and a good father. She knew that if she came out and said something nice to him, that her fans would do the same and be nice to HOV,” our source continued. “After all, he’s coming with her to several more shows. And she doesn’t want him to be treated poorly and booed across the US.”
For those of you that missed it, Jay was booed by some of Beyonce’s loyal Beyhive fans when he was spotted roaming around the stadium before her show in Miami. Unfortunately, Lemonade left everyone assuming that Jay was unfaithful to Beyonce, which made her fans pretty unhappy with her husband.
Thankfully, Beyonce and Jay seem to be doing just fine after all of the Lemonade drama. Not only was he in attendance for her show in Miami, but he’s likely going to be following her around tour with their daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, for the majority of the shows.
