With Donald Trump, 69, happily leading the Republican presidential primary, Ted Cruz, 45, has promised to drop a political bombshell on his GOP rival. With rumors that he’s going to name Carly Fiorina, 61, as his running mate, everyone’s wondering: what is Ted going to say?
There’s only one way to find out what’s on the Texas senator’s mind and that’s to watch his April 27 announcement. Ted will unveil the latest step in his political campaign during a political rally at the Pan Am Pavilion in Indianapolis, Indiana, according to Politico. Ted’s announcement is scheduled for 4:00 P.M. EST, so be ready to hear everything he has to say. Update: Ted announced that Carly is his pick!
When asked what this whole announcement was about, Ted told reporters,” You know, if we were making any announcement at 4 p.m., it wouldn’t make sense to announce it at 10 a.m.,” according to ABC News. It seems Ted doesn’t want to spoil the surprise.
However, the cat might be out of the bag. Ted’s campaign manager, Jeff Roe, confirmed that Ted’s campaign has compiled a short list of possible vice-president candidates, per USA Today. One of those names was former presidential candidate, Carly Fiorina. She was reportedly seen in Indianapolis ahead of Ted’s campaign rally. Uh-oh. So much for the surprise! Plus, insiders told the New York Post that Ted was going to drop the Carly-bomb.

Of course, Donald Trump had an opinion about a possible Cruz-Fiorina ticket. “Well, I think it hurts him,” he told Fox News’s Fox & Friends. “I can’t imagine he does it. First of all, he shouldn’t be naming anybody because he doesn’t even have a chance.” Saying that Ted and Carly don’t have a chance to win the nomination is actually one of the nicer things Donald has said about either of them.

Donald is sitting comfortably in first place in the GOP’s race to the White House. Not only did Donald triumph in the New York state primary election, he completely swept the Acela GOP primaries. Perhaps Ted picking the former HP CEO is a good move. After all, Donald has waged a war on women by making some incredibly gross and misogynistic comments. GOP women may throw their support behind Ted if he has a powerful Republican woman by his side.
