Uh oh. A new report reveals that Prince was not very savvy when it came to keeping his finances in order, which means his estate is in total disarray… and it’s all because he allegedly had major trust issues.
Prince, who was 57 years old when he passed away suddenly on April 21, reportedly left his estate completely up in the air now that he’s gone. Unfortunately, new details about the state of the iconic singer’s finances reveal that he didn’t keep up with any of his legal documents due to the fact he allegedly didn’t trust anyone who worked for him. Not good.

He was worth an estimated $300 million, but unfortunately Prince allegedly never took the time to make a last will and testament before he died. Unfortunately, Prince had some trouble keeping his finances in order and almost always refused to sign any and all documents in the last five years of his life, reports TMZ.
Sources tell the outlet that Prince had major trust issues when it came to the business side of his career. The singer allegedly felt “screwed over” by some allegedly shady business men in the early years of his career, which made him somewhat paranoid as he got holder. The report also claims that Prince had a bad habit of “hiring and firing” paper pushers to handle his estate. Yikes.
One of Prince’s employees told the outlet that when he was hired he asked for copies of specific legal documents, and the singer responded that he didn’t actually know where they were. “They’re out their somewhere,” was his alleged response. The employee claims he never saw any of the documents he asked for before Prince died.
Now, herein lies an even worse problem when it comes to the massive fortune that Prince left behind. Because he reportedly did not have a will, the estate could possibly be going to his half-sister, Tyka Nelson. Plus, he was reportedly helping out two of his ex-lovers, Apollonia and Mayte Garcia, financially, which means it’s totally possible that they could put up a fight against Tyka for the estate.
