It’s all about the money, right?! That seems to be Beyonce and Jay Z’s motto, as a new report claims Bey purposely added fuel to the rumors that Jay has been unfaithful in the couple’s marriage on her new album ‘Lemonade’ as a marketing ploy. Get the scoop on their alleged master plan right here!
Beyonce, 34, and Jay Z’s marriage has come under major scrutiny since the release of her album Lemonade, but that may be exactly what they wanted! But why the heck would anyone want people to continuously talk about their relationship falling apart because of cheating allegations? Find out here!
“They develop these storylines to sell albums,” an insider told Page Six. “Lemonade is a movie crafted to drive sales. Jay and Beyonce are entertainers at the top of their game. Do you think Jay would release her album on [his own] Tidal if it was really all about him? He is 100 percent behind this.”
In case you haven’t been following, many of the lyrics on Lemonade are about a man being unfaithful, which led fans to speculate that Jay had cheated. Rachel Roy, 42, and Rita Ora, 25, have been called out as alleged mistresses, but both have denied being romantically involved with the rapper.
“[Beyonce and Jay Z] are marketing masters. They’re pros at this,” the paper’s source added. “The more attention, the more they sell, the better. All that speculation is to get press when they need it. Lemonade is much deeper than infidelity, but that’s the focus. As long as people are talking, they don’t care.”
Indeed, Jay did totally relaxed and carefree when he was photographed on April 26 for the first time since Lemonade’s release, so it definitely doesn’t seem like there’s much going on in the way of bothering him.
The album is also selling like crazy — it’s topped iTunes charts in dozens of countries — so if money is the real goal here…Bey and Jay are definitely on the right track!
Do you believe that Jay and Bey planned this whole thing as a marketing ploy and storyline, HollywoodLifers?
