Ariana Grande looked seriously glamorous in a full ball gown at the TIME 100 Gala in NYC on April 26. The singer worked her signature hairstyle — a ponytail — in a slicked-back and sophisticated way. Find out how you can copy her look!
Making TIME magazine’s list of 100 most influential people, Ariana Grande, 22, dressed for the occasion. Wearing a black strapless tulle gown by Christina Siriano, the “Focus” singer put a classic spin to her favorite ponytail hairstyle by opting for a sleek style and the gorgeous makeup to match.
This might just be our favorite look on Ariana! Her strapless ball gown fit her perfectly and was made even more dressed up thanks to her diamond choker necklace and Anne Sisteron diamond stud earrings. The petite singer and actress walked the Time red carpet, and later, performed two songs from her upcoming album, “Dangerous Woman” and “Leave Me Lonely.”
Wearing her hair in a sleek ponytail, Ariana’s ombré hair looked much lighter on the ends than it has in the past, no doubt thanks to some more subtle balayage highlights. For her dressed up hairstyle, Ari’s favorite girl, Danila Rebollo, pulled her hair into a smooth ponytail that sat high at the crown of her head.
To copy her look, apply a smoothing cream like Smooth Sexy Hair Smooth Encounter Blow Dry Crème to your hair while it’s still damp, then blow it out straight. Use a flat iron once your hair is dry to smooth out any stray bumps or waves, then apply a smoothing serum like Smooth Sexy Hair Frizz Eliminator Smooth & Sleek Serum to seal out frizz. Use a fine-tooth comb to pull your hair back into a ponytail just above the crown of the head and secure in place with an elastic. Take a one-inch section of your hair from the ponytail and wrap it around the elastic, bobby pinning into place to hide it, and finish with Smooth Sexy Hair Smooth & Seal Anti-Frizz & Shine.
Ari has been really switching up her hair looks lately. While she’s known for her half-up, half down ponytail look, she’s tried everything from the ’90s-inspired space buns for a casual shopping trip to a sexy, volumized loose curls look for her “Dangerous Woman” music video. Having previously stated that she had limited styling options due to damage from dyeing her hair too often, it looks like Ariana has been taking care of her strands so she can start playing with more looks again.
