Len Goodman is not known for being the nicest of judges but I think he went too far when he said Nyle DiMarco is ‘annoying’ the audience on the April 25 episode of ‘Dancing With The Stars!’
In the package before his Quickstep with partner Peta Murgatroyd, Nyle DiMarco, 26, joked that his biggest competition was Val Chmerkovskiy, a pro dancer on the show. Len Goodman completely shamed him for that comparison — which was a total joke!

I think Nyle is a very likable person. The deaf contestant has been an inspiration all season, and the way he works with Peta is fascinating and wonderful.
The Quickstep was a bit of a challenge for him, on the April 25 episode, simply because the timing is so fast, and he can’t hear the music AT ALL. However, I think Len was, like way harsh Tai when he said Nyle was “annoying” the viewers!
Nyle DiMarco Vs. DWTS Judge — Len Goodman Calls Him Out After He Dissed Competition
Nyle was at the top of the leaderboard last week, and he did sound a bit cocky in the package. He said his biggest competition is Val, and when the producer tried to clarify, “Val and Ginger?” Nyle just smiled and said, just Val. Watch his package where he says Val is his biggest competition:
After his dance, Len was not happy, and said: “You’re a good dancer, but don’t start saying you’re as good as Val because you’ll just annoy people.” Ouch!
Judge Bruno Tonioli said his dance was incredible and loved that it was “explosive.” Carrie Ann Inaba said: “You are a good dancer and you are a contender, but tonight, your frame was very broken. You weren’t as crisp as I wanted. I felt the dance got away from you.” In the end, they got a 25, which was in the middle of the pack.
Nyle’s joke during the package was just that — a joke. It was a little conceded, but he IS a good dancer, and he’s dealing with a disability that no one else has in the competition. Len’s insult seemed personal and I think it went too far. I actually think Nyle could win, so I hope this doesn’t hurt him going forward. Plus, Val was obviously not offended as she showed the camera a 10 score from backstage after Nyle’s dance.
Do you think Nyle was in the wrong or was Len too hard on him?
