How tragic! Michael Sacha, Kid Rock‘s personal assistant, passed away after a horrifying ATV accident on the 45-year-old singer’s property in Whites Creek, Tenn., on April 25. Even more heartbreaking, Kid Rock was the one who found his assistant dead. He took to his official website one day after losing Michael to deliver the devastating news.
“I am beyond devastated to report that my personal assistant Mike Sacha passed away today in an ATV accident here in Nashville. He was a member of our family and one of the greatest young men I have ever had the pleasure to not only work with, but also to become friends with,” the singer wrote on April 26. “I know I speak for us all in sharing my deepest condolences to his family. I can not imagine how they must feel. Myself, the band, our family, friends and co-workers are devastated over this loss.”
The Metro Nashville Police Department revealed in a release that the tragic accident occurred after Michael drove two people to meet an Uber at midnight. Kid Rock and a friend discovered Michael’s body on the side of a driveway in the early hours of April 25 and called for help, according to the Tennessean, but sadly it was too late. His death has been determined accidental.
In his sad announcement, Kid Rock told fans that was supposed to be back in his home state of Michigan on April 26, but instead he would be staying in Nashville until he can bring Michael back home to his family. The singer addressed concerns that he was part of the ATV accident — which he was not — to put a halt on rumors before they spread.
“I’m asking everyone to please respect our and his families’ privacy in this difficult time,” Kid Rock added. “RIP Mike. We will never forget you, my friend.”
