In a stunning monologue at the top of her triumphant return to ‘Live With Kelly & Michael’, Kelly Ripa did something shocking: she forgave co-host Michael Strahan for leaving the show! Click through to watch the moving moment!
Kelly Ripa, 45, didn’t waste any time on her first day back at Live With Kelly & Michael since Michael Strahan, 44, announced he was leaving the show to get down to the nitty gritty of the situation. But she actually didn’t direct any ire at her longtime cohost, instead totally forgiving him — and even saying how proud she is of him! Click through to watch her amazing speech!
“I am thrilled for Michael. I’m thrilled for you. This is a tremendous opportunity and I couldn’t be and we couldn’t be prouder of you. And everything we accomplished together,” Kelly said during her incredible, moving monologue on Live, addressing both the audience and her co-host.
Instead of slamming Michael for leaving the show, she went for Disney’s blood for springing the news on her with no warning! “After 26 years with this company, I earned the right [to take a break]…I didn’t want to come out here and just say something I might regret,” Kelly said. “What transpired, though, over the course of a few days has been extraordinary in the sense that it started a much greater conversation about communication and consideration and, most importantly, respect in the workplace.”
Damn! Kelly definitely deserves respect, especially from the network she’s devoted most of her life and career to! Kelly’s worked for ABC since she was 1999, starting out on the soap opera All My Children, moving on to Live next. Though her monologue was a little strained, it seems like she and Michael will be able to work it out until he leaves for GMA in September. What a relief!
