Princess Charlotte is about to turn 1! And you better believe her royal soiree will be QUITE the affair. In fact, Kate Middleton has some pretty adorable ideas up her sleeve for her daughter’s special day!
There’s no doubt Kensington Palace has been abuzz lately with party prep for Princess Charlotte‘s first birthday, which is fast-approaching on May 2. From sending invitations to perfecting the menu, we just KNOW Kate Middleton, 34, and the royal staff have had their hands full with making sure Charlotte’s big day goes off without a hitch. But while Kate does have helpers, she’s reportedly taken the lead with planning, and we are SO excited to see which of these themes she ultimately chose!
“I think they will definitely have some sort of theme, maybe something gender-neutral like animals or pretty gingham cotton bunting with elegant lunch settings and canapés for the adults,” Sarah Dixon, a maternity nurse who has worked for friends of the royal couple, revealed to People magazine. Sarah also noted that an outdoor setting is often best, especially for energetic toddlers like Charlotte’s big brother Prince George, 2.
Animals or gingham would both be SUPER cute themes for little Charlotte. But while those may be Kate’s favorite ideas, her mother, Carole Middleton, has a soft spot for a different classic. “Beatrix Potter’s characters are timeless and perfect for both boys and girls,” Charlotte’s grandmother wrote last May in Baby London magazine. Carole also added that “a theme can be an effective way to personalize a party.”
And we couldn’t agree more! But when it comes to Charlotte’s party theme THIS year, it’s safe to say that the selection has already been made. After all, her birthdate is right around the corner. “Normally for a high-profile kid’s birthday, the invite goes out six months prior to the event,” Sarah revealed. “These people have busy diaries!”
But lucky for Kate, her mother is the founder of the online kids’ party supplier firm Party Pieces, so we’re sure Carole has been MORE than willing to pitch in with ideas and helpful party hints. “Whether you decide to keep it small and intimate or opt for a much bigger gathering, your little ones first birthday is certainly something to celebrate,” she wrote back in May. Aw!
What do you think of Kate’s plans for Charlotte’s first birthday party, HollywoodLifers? Are you excited for the Princess to turn one?
