On tonight’s episode of ‘Jill & Jessa: Counting On’, Jessa Duggar and her husband Ben Seewald travel to Central America with baby Spurgeon so that Jill Duggar and Derrick Dillard’s son, Israel, can finally meet the little tyke. We even get to see Spurgeon take his adorable passport photo!
In part one of the season finale of Jill & Jessa: Counting On, which aired April 26, we got to relive a lot of memories such as Jessa Duggar‘s, 23, wedding to Ben Seewald, parts of her pregnancy, and even when the young mom gave birth to baby Spurgeon, 4 months. But even better, the family of three — along with other Duggars — traveled to Central America together for the first time to visit Jill Duggar and HER fam!
The episode began with little Spurgeon getting his passport photo taken in preparation for his very first international flight. And boy did the cutie KILL his photoshoot — the chosen shot was completely adorable! And Jessa couldn’t stop gushing about how excited she was for her newborn son to finally meet his aunt, uncle, and little cousin — it was definitely about time!
What was interesting about this episode though was the amount of flashbacks weaved throughout. We got to experience Jessa and Ben’s wedding (but of course we still never got to see their first kiss), we saw clips from when Jessa was pregnant with Spurgeon, and then finally we actually got to see Jessa give birth — it was QUITE the emotional episode.
Some of the Duggars — including Jessa — even addressed Josh Duggar and the scandal surrounding their family. “It was very difficult, we cried a lot of tears,” Jessa revealed. “It was very emotional.” But luckily Jessa was able to find hope and happiness in her pregnancy and in the anticipation of meeting her son.
As the Duggars prepared for their big trip to Central America, they made sure to bring lots of snacks and surprises for the Dillard family — new shirts for Jill, rodent traps, and of course their favorite foods. It was also Jessa’s idea to plan a birthday bash for little Israel, Jill, and Derrick Dillard because their birthdays are all so close together. Hopefully we’ll get to see how that party plays out in the next episode!
And while we did see Derrick meeting Spurgeon for the first time, we didn’t actually get to watch Jill meeting Spurgeon tonight. But we can’t wait to watch the happy union on next week’s episode, which also happens to be the season finale. And, according to the preview clips, it’s going to be one juicy conclusion!
Tell us, HollywoodLifers — are you excited for the season finale next week? Do you love that Jessa was finally able to visit Jill in Central America?
