Former New England Patriots star Ron Brace has died at the shockingly young age of 29 from unknown reasons. Police have only reported that the cause of death is “not suspicious.” May he rest in peace.
NFL player Ron Brace, 29, has tragically died of immediately unknown causes on April 23. The former New England Patriots defensive tackle’s death was confirmed by his family to the Associated Press on April 24. This is so unimaginably sad, a life taken far too soon.
Ron died at his home in Springfield, Massachusetts, according to his cousin, Shaunta Brace. Local police are currently investigating his death, and although there are no reports yet about how the NFL star died, his cause of death is not “suspicious,” according to Springfield Police Captain Robert Strzempek. The New England Patriots released a heartfelt statement following Ron’s passing:
— New England Patriots (@Patriots) April 24, 2016
“We were deeply saddened to hear the news this morning of Ron Brace’s death. Seven years ago tomorrow (4/25/09), we drafted Ron after his standout career at Boston College. During his Patriots career, the Springfield native was always eager to volunteer and give back in our communities, especially when those community initiatives were held in Western Mass. It is difficult to believe that someone so young and in the prime of his life is no longer with us. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Ron’s family, friends and the many former teammates who will mourn Ron’s passing.”
This is so heartbreaking. Ron played for the Patriots from 2009 to 2012, I’m 39 games, with seven starts. He signed with the Washington Redskins in 2013, but wound up not playing any regular-season games. Ron’s alma mater, Boston College, expressed their condolences as well. Ron played for the Boston College Eagles during that time, and his former teammate, Al Washington, is now the coordinator/defensive line coach. Al revealed on Twitter that his friend has expressed interest in joining him in coaching the team, just two weeks before his tragic death.
HollywoodLifers, our thoughts go out to Ron’s family and loved ones during this difficult time.
