Everyone wants to know about Rachel Roy who appears to be ‘Becky with the good hair’ in Beyonce’s song ‘Sorry’ off her new ‘Lemonade’ album. It turns out she and Bey have quite a bit in common, from their fashion labels to both having little girls, these ladies would probably have been friends in a different life.
Jay Z definitely has a type: beautiful, successful, brunettes. Beyonce put Jay on blast in her new album, Lemonade and fans definitely think “Becky” is fashion designer and former employee of Jay Z’s Rocawear, Rachel Roy. You might not immediately see the similarities between Bey, 34, and Rachel, 42, but there are definitely a few. HollywoodLife.com has compiled some info on these powerful ladies and you be the judge if these ladies are more alike than not.
Not city girls: Everyone knows that Beyonce grew up in Houston, Texas. She’s loves her hometown so much that she actually named her entertainment company and fashion line after the street she grew up on, Parkwood. Rachel grew up in Seaside, Calif., so not a southern girl but definitely not a big city lady either. They fell for best friends: Rachel’s ex-husband, Damon Dash, co-founded, Roc-A-Fella Records with Jay Z in 1996. After a falling out, Damon left the company and their friendship has severed. They’re both proud mommies: Bey has daughter Blue Ivy Carter, 4, and Rachel has two daughters: Tallulah Dash, 11, and 17-year-old Ava Dash. They are both millionaires: Bey obviously makes a ton of money, as of 2015 she was estimated to be worth $250 million. But Rachel has had some great success too and is reported to be worth upwards of $12 million.
They’re fashion designers: Bey is a total fashionista. She and her mom co-founded the House of Deréon in 2005 and later she launched her activewear line, Ivy Park with Topshop in 2016. Rachel launched her Rachel Roy clothing line in 2004 and her The RACHEL Rachel Roy collection at Macy’s in 2009. They both have great hair: Let’s be honest, Bey’s hair is the envy of every woman. She is always playing with different looks and never ceases to amaze us with her natural beauty. But we’ve gotta give props to Rachel’s gorgeous, shiny locks too. Bey did say, “Becky with the good hair.” That you can’t deny.
HollywoodLifers, do you think Bey and Rach have a lot in common?
