What hard feelings? Kelly Ripa may have been blindsided by the news that Michael Strahan was leaving ‘Live,’ but upon her return to the show on April 26, she’ll be his bestie all over again. Get the details here!
Just when it seemed like Kelly Ripa, 45, may have walked away from Live With Kelly And Michael for good, she shocked fans by revealing she’ll be returning to the show on April 26. Kelly’s angry reaction to Michael Strahan‘s announcement that he’s leaving Live has fans (and Michael) wondering what she’ll say or how she’ll act during her return episode, insiders are saying that she’ll likely leave everyone flabbergasted…by acting like Michael’s best friend!
Although Kelly and Michael, 44, have not spoken to each other since he dropped the bomb on her, as sources told The Hollywood Reporter, the two exchanged some friendly text messages on April 23 — so tensions aren’t as high as they were initially. But considering Michael won’t be leaving Live for GMA until September, Kelly apparently thinks it’s best to make nice with her cohost, especially if she wants to keep her job!
It’s still unclear what Kelly wants to do once Michael heads to GMA, but one thing is for sure: Holding a grudge won’t get her anywhere. After Kelly seemingly boycotted her own show upon receiving the blindsiding news that Michael was leaving, fans were concerned that Kelly might never even return to Live. Clearly that’s not the case, and rather, it sounds like Kelly is taking the high road with this one for her sake and the show’s!
Michael immediately addressed the situation just one day after announcing his departure from Live, declaring his love for Kelly on the April 20 show. While it seemed like Kelly wanted nothing to do with Michael or Live, Kelly broke her silence in an email to the staff that was leaked by Deadline.
“I wanted to thank you all for giving me the time to process this new information,” Kelly wrote. “Your kindness, support, and love has overwhelmed me. We are a family and I look forward to seeing you all on Tuesday morning.”
Considering Michael and showrunners just blindsided Kelly with the news of his departure just seven days ago, we wouldn’t be surprised if there’s still a little bit of awkwardness between the cohosts when Kelly comes back to the show. But they were seemingly closer than ever before all of the drama, so maybe their bestie status actually will prevail? We’ll certainly be tuning in to find out!
