First up, Kim Fields, 46, and Sasha Farber performed Jive to “You Can’t Stop The Beat” from Hairspray. Despite her ankle injury, they were great! Len Goodman said it was a great opening to the show. Bruno Tonioli whispered that he noticed a flub at the end, but said it had him dancing. “You are one to watch, you are fantastic. Tonight’s routine was incredible…but your energy was a hair under [where I wanted it to be],” Carrie Ann Inaba said. They got a 24!
Von Miller, 26, and Witney Carson danced to Michael Jackson‘s “Bad.” “That was bad ass. You got the Jackson shuffle, very well done,” Bruno said. Carrie said he embodied Michael but gave it his own style and flavor. Len said: “You didn’t need that wind machine, you’ve got a fan here.” Awww. They got a 24!
Jodie Sweetin, 34, scared partner Keo Motsepe this week, as she was rushed to the hospital during rehearsal with a foot injury. They danced contemporary, inspired by Pink‘s “Try” music video. “That was a really difficult routine to watch because there is so much aggression and anger …but you made it beautiful,” Carrie Ann said. Len said they performed it well. “Incredibly demanding, emotionally and physically. You gave it a wonderful interpretation,” Bruno said. They got a 25!
‘DWTS’ Who Was Eliminated? — Dancing With The Stars Season 22 Recap Of Famous Dances
UFC fighter Paige VanZant, 21, killed it with partner Mark Ballas, dancing Jazz to a song from Austin Powers. “There is nothing about that dance that I didn’t like,” Len said. Bruno said it brought him to the swinging ’60s. Carrie Ann was actually IN Austin Powers, as Fook Yu, and she said she loved it! They got a 28, including a 10 from Len!
Nyle DiMarco, 26, danced Quickstep with Peta Murgatroyd to the famous dance from “The Mask.” Bruno “loved the explosive” nature of the dance and said it was incredible. “You are a good dancer and you are a contender, but tonight, your frame was very broken. You’re not as crisp as I wanted. I felt the dance got away from you,” Carrie Ann said. “The performance was terrific…however, you lost control,” Len said, adding “don’t start saying you’re as good as Val [which he did in the package] because you’ll just annoy people.” They got a 25!
Ginger Zee, 35, danced Jazz with Val Chmerkovskiy to Janet Jackson‘s “Nasty.” Carrie Ann said she “almost owned it,” but commended she was well-rehearsed. Len said it lacked attitude. Bruno said “you did everything you had to do,” but wanted it to be a next level performance. They got a 24!
Underdog Doug Flutie, 53, danced Bollywood with his partner Karina Smirnoff. It was actually his best dance of the season, in my opinion! “From Hollywood to Bollywood, it was jolly good,” Len said. Bruno said it was a catchy dance. Carrie Ann said, “it was, by far, my favorite number you have ever done. You’re finally dancing and you’re having a great time.” They got a 21!
Boyz II Men’s Wanya Morris, 42, and partner Lindsay Arnold stunned yet again to fellow boy band NSYNC‘s “Bye Bye Bye.” Bruno said: “That was as tight and polished as Kim Kardashian‘s face.” Carrie Ann screamed: “This boy is on fireeee.” Len said he took a great step forward towards the final. They were greeted by Lance Bass and Joey Fatone backstage, who said they were so proud! They got a high score of 29!
Finally, Antonio Brown, 27, danced Jive with partner Sharna Burgess to “Footloose.” It was phenomenal! Carrie Ann said, “that’s the way to bring the house down. You killed it!” Len said it was his best dance yet. Bruno said he was the center of attention throughout the dance. They got a 27, their highest score of the season!
In the end, Doug Flutie and Karina were voted off. It was their time.
