YES! Forget Guns N’ Roses, this was the real reunion the people wanted! Dr. Dre, 51, joined Ice Cube, 46, on stage for the second weekend of the Coachella music festival on Apr. 23 for an epic N.W.A. return, alongside other band members MC Ren and DJ Yella as the band came back together!
So, on the first weekend Ice, Ren and Yella teamed up to rip through the N.W.A. back catalogue, but Dre was suspiciously absent so it wasn’t really a N.W.A. reunion — maybe a semi one. But rest assured, we can lay that ghost to bed now because the boys are back and they sound as fierce as ever.
After Ice, Ren and Yella performed “Straight Outta Compton” together, Ice turned his back to the crowd, looked to the side of the stage and asked, “Is there a motherf****** doctor in the house?” Dre immediately emerged and the crowd went wild as the group launched into “Still D.R.E.” and “California Love.” Sadly, we didn’t get any N.W.A. material with Dre on stage, but maybe they’re saving it for their own exclusive tour?

Otherwise, it was another explosive set from Ice, who had earlier welcomed Lil Easy-E to the stage to rap his dad’s HUGE hit, “Boyz-n-the-Hood” which the fans lapped up. But the biggest surprise of the night came towards the end of the show when Kendrick Lamar, a self-confessed N.W.A. fanatic, joined Ice on stage to perform “Alright.”

It’s great to see the old gang but together, and we can only hope that they return to stage once again and perform some N.W.A. hits. We’ve been waiting long enough!
