*Jon Snow’s death
This was the moment no one saw coming. Jon Snow was betrayed and stabbed by his brothers of the Night’s Watch in the season 5 finale, with Olly delivering the fatal knife to the gut. Apparently, it was all “for the watch,” but they were all really just cowards. Jon’s death sent shockwaves across the world, and many fans are hoping that Jon Snow will return somehow. But it doesn’t look good for him.
*Cersei’s walk of shame
The once proud and untouchable Cersei Lannister was forced to strip naked and walk through the streets of King’s Landing. It was one of the most gripping and jaw-dropping scenes in the history of the show. Cersei endured her punishment, and now she’s out for blood.
*Stannis burns his daughter alive
Yep, Stannis is actually the worst parent on the planet. We all knew Stannis liked having power, but he consciously made the decision to burn his daughter, Shireen, alive in order sit on the Iron Throne. Well, karma’s a b*tch and Stannis was left at the mercy of Brienne in the finale.
Sansa has been through SO MUCH over the past five seasons. The poor girl has nearly lost every member of her family. Just when you thought things couldn’t get worse for her, it did. She was forced to marry the awful Ramsay Bolton, and he proved he was possibly more despicable than Joffrey when he raped her in front of Theon.
*The Night’s King appears again
The Night’s King showed up again when Jon Snow was trying to evacuate Hardhome. As Jon fled on a boat, the Night’s King locked eyes with Jon. It was downright terrifying.
*Arya goes blind
Arya finally got some of the revenge she’d been craving when she killed Meryn Trant. His death scene was gruesome. But it wasn’t what the Many-Faced God wanted. He decided to punish Arya by blinding her. Will she ever be able to see again?!
*Tyrion and Daenerys meet
Tyrion and Daenerys have yet to meet in George R.R. Martin’s books, but they did in season 5. Tyrion found his way to Meereen and became one of Daenerys’ closest advisors. They make a pretty good team, don’t you think? After Dany flew away on her dragons and found herself a Dothraki prisoner, Tyrion was left pretty much in control of Meereen.
Just when Jaime thought he had saved the day by bringing Myrcella back to King’s Landing, Ellaria Sand got the last laugh. She poisoned Myrcella with a kiss on the lips. Once Cersei finds out what happened, she’s going to be furious. Seriously, wouldn’t a fight between Cersei and Ellaria be epic?
*Littlefinger and Sansa kiss
Sansa and Littlefinger’s relationship has always been a little weird, but he’s kept her alive. Littlefinger clearly has romantic feelings for Sansa, and he proved that once again in season 5 with a kiss. A lot of people hate Littlefinger, but I’m a huge fan. Sorry not sorry.
*Theon and Sansa escape
Theon/Reek was partially redeemed when he helped Sansa escape from Ramsay in the season 5 finale. They jumped from Winterfell’s castle and into the unknown. They survived (thank God), and now they’re on their own.
