1. What time is the premiere?
Game of Thrones season 6 will premiere at 9 p.m. ET on HBO. For those of you with an HBO subscription, you can watch on HBO or the HBOGo app. Through April 25, HBO is offering non-subscribers free access to their network of channels, so you can watch Game of Thrones with ease. But if you want to keep watching the rest of the season, you’re going to have to sign up for an HBO subscription.
2. How many episodes is season 6?
Season 6 of Game of Thrones will consist of 10 episodes. The first episode of season 6 is titled “The Red Woman.”
3. What happened at the end of last season?
SO MUCH HAPPENED in the season 5 finale. Cersei took her walk of shame through the streets of King’s Landing, Sansa and Theon escaped Winterfell, Arya went blind, Brienne may have killed Stannis, Myrcella died, and Jon Snow was killed by the men of the Night’s Watch!
4. Is it based off of a George R.R. Martin’s book?
Sort of. George R.R. Martin’s sixth book, The Winds of Winter, is not out yet, so this is the first year the series will really go beyond the novel’s storylines. However, if you’re really looking forward to reading the new book, season 6 won’t spoil it for you. “So much of what we’re doing diverges from the books at this point,” director David Benioff told EW.
5. Any big faces coming back that we haven’t seen in a while?
Yes! After not being present for all of season 5, Bran will be back. That likely meets Hodor will be back, too. Theon’s sister Yara and father Balon Greyjoy will also be featured in season 6.
