With Conor McGregor announcing his shock retirement and seemingly being pulled from the main event at UFC 200, current champ Nate Diaz has been left without an opponent to face. However, Nate has signaled his intentions that he wants that Conor rematch and has no one else in his sights.
The message is clear. At UFC 200 Nate Diaz, 31, wants to fight no one else but Conor McGregor, 27, otherwise he won’t even bother stepping in the octagon. At a press conference on Apr. 22, the current Welterweight champ made his intentions clear sitting alongside UFC president Dana White.
The UFC world was turned on its head on Apr. 19 when Conor sent out a tweet saying he was retiring. Then, two days later he took to Facebook to slam the UFC, who he claimed were putting unfair demands on him for promoting the fight. But at a press conference, Dana made his intentions clear for what he wants to see.
“Everybody knows what’s been going on with the main event for UFC 200,” White said. “Nate Diaz will fight, and we’re gonna find him a new opponent,” he told a crowded room of journalists in Las Vegas.
However, Nate had something different to say, stirring the pot just a little more. “I came here to fight Conor. I’m not real interested in anyone else,” he barked after Dana’s speech. It makes you wonder if he wants to fight at all!
Astonishingly, after Conor sent out his retirement tweet, the UFC flexed their muscle by pulling him from the card, in which he was the main event in a highly-anticipated rematch that the world was looking forward to.

Maybe, just maybe, we’re a little suspicious. We seriously wouldn’t be surprised if come July 9, Conor and Nate are in the Octagon fighting one another at the MGM Grand.
