More celebrities react to the passing of one of life’s greatest icons! In an EXCLUSIVE interview Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton speak about the legend that was Prince and what his legacy means to them personally.
The Voice coaches, Christina Aguilera, 35, Adam Levine, 37, and Blake Shelton. 39, are mourning the loss of Prince like the rest of the world. It’s been a very sad and tragic 24 hours but fans from all over the world are having their say on what the icon meant to them. Hollywoodlife.com brings you the EXCLUSIVE interviews from the 3 judges!
Christina isn’t one to follow the crowd. She walks to a different beat both aesthetically and musically, so it’s no wonder the pop icon believes she shares something special with Prince. “It wasn’t just the music, it was his authenticity and his genuine passion that he had for music! And keeping it real and authentic, I was truly in awe! It was an inspiration! Even with his battles and arguments with labels and things like that he definitely I think was one that truly was sticking up for music and artists!”, Christina told HollywoodLife.com in an EXCLUSIVE interview. It seems the late artist will always be remembered and praised as she continued, “That will be something that will continue to inspire me and spoke to me above everything else! I mean of course the timeless music that could be a hit today and in any generation. He is classic and is a legend!”
The compliments didn’t stop there as Adam weighed in on the travesty. Again, it wasn’t just his incredible music that kept people loyal and interested. “Well you know he influenced more than just music for me, he was just a fearless guy and he would only follow his own path!” he told HollywoodLife.com. “I think it is a rare thing more and more these days for anyone to do that, he stood for so much about creative freedom and there is to much to say about him and it is all overwhelming and I am still on shock but I am going to miss him. I wish now that I was able to spend more time with him while he was still here, I am going to miss him!” Too sweet.
It seems the worst things with situations like this is regret. And unfortunately, despite being a huge fan of Prince, Blake never actually got to meet the musical legend. “I am sick about it, I never met the guy but I wish I could have, it just fells terrible,” said the Voice judge. “Because we have lost a superhero, not just musically I mean obviously musically but the impact that it has had on earth! Everyone has a favorite Prince song or a Prince thing that he did that they love. He was just cool, cooler than any of the rest of us could ever be and at 57 years old is just not right!”
