Rainbows are the most happy and cheery symbols in weather and boy did the mourners outside Prince’s Paisley Park estate need that uplifting sign after the untimely passing of one of music’s biggest icons. After the word broke mid-day that the singer had died, the gates of his Chanhassen, MN home became a shrine, with many leaving flowers and dozens of purple balloons. But the skies were rainy and dreary, and so was the mood of his fans.
But by the late afternoon after the devastating news began to sink in, mother nature decided to put a rainbow through the clouds directly above his home, almost like the heavens knew everyone needed something, anything to lift their spirits. It was a much-needed moment of brightness in an otherwise dark day, and definitely seemed like a sign from above that wherever Prince’s spirit is now, he’s doing just fine. Prince was found dead in the elevator of his home mid-morning, and cause of death still remains a big mystery. There had been reports that he had been battling a bad case of the flu recently, which had caused him to postpone several shows, but he allegedly suffered a drug overdose following what would be his final concert in Atlanta Apr. 14. His private plane made an emergency landing in Moline, IL so he could he rushed to the hospital to have a “save shot” administered to combat the opiate overdose.
An autopsy will be performed on the singer Apr. 22, but toxicology and lab tests take weeks to be done so it could be some time before we know for sure what really took Prince from us so suddenly.
HollywoodLifers, do you think the rainbow was a sign from Prince? Or just a cool weather coincidence?
